The short version
What these terms say, in plain words
- You keep ownership of your footage and everything you make with CutKarma.
- You need the rights to any footage you bring in, including videos from YouTube or Vimeo links.
- AI output can be wrong. Review your cut, dub and captions before you publish.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel, and every plan has usage limits.
- Don’t use CutKarma to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or mislead people with AI voices.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Reckonsys Tech Labs Private Limited (“CutKarma”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using CutKarma, you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you use CutKarma for an organisation, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms for it.
Your account
- You must be at least 12 to use CutKarma.
- Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your password private.
- You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
What CutKarma does
CutKarma is an AI video editor. It analyses the footage you bring in, cuts it to your direction, and lets you review and correct the result, grade it, dub or caption it, and render it.
We’re improving CutKarma all the time, so features may change. We’ll try to give you notice before we remove anything significant from a paid plan.
Your content
You keep all rights to the footage you bring in, and to the cuts, grades, dubs, captions and renders you make with CutKarma. Together, we call these your content.
You give us permission to host, copy, process, analyse, transform and display your content only as needed to run CutKarma for you. That includes sending it to the AI and processing providers described in our Privacy policy. This permission ends when your content is deleted, apart from copies we must keep for legal reasons.
You’re responsible for your content. You confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights, including the copyright, privacy and publicity rights of people who appear in it.
When you add a link from YouTube, Vimeo or another site, you confirm that you’re allowed to download and edit that video, and that doing so follows that site’s terms.
AI output
CutKarma uses AI to choose moments, explain its choices, translate, dub, caption and suggest grades. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. Review every cut, dub and caption before you publish or rely on it. You’re responsible for what you publish.
Similar footage and directions can lead to similar results for different people, so outputs aren’t guaranteed to be unique.
Acceptable use
When you use CutKarma, don’t:
- upload content you don’t have the rights to, or content that’s illegal, sexually exploits minors, promotes violence, or harasses or threatens anyone
- use AI dubbing or captions to impersonate someone, or to mislead people about what someone said
- try to break, overload or reverse engineer CutKarma, or get around its security or plan limits
- access CutKarma by automated means, except through features we provide
- resell CutKarma or share access to your account without our permission
We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules.
Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed in advance through Razorpay, on the cycle shown when you subscribe. Prices are on our pricing page, and taxes are shown at checkout.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from Manage subscription in your account. Some plans are managed by our team; to cancel one of those, contact us. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, your subscription becomes past due and we may limit paid features until it’s settled.
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, we’ll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
- Refunds. Payments aren’t refundable, including for part of a billing period, except where the law requires a refund.
Plan limits
Each plan includes usage limits, which are listed on the pricing page. When you reach a limit, you can wait for it to reset or change your plan.
Storage and expiry
Projects expire after a set period, described in our Privacy policy. After that they can’t be edited or rendered. Download any renders you want to keep. CutKarma isn’t a backup service, so keep your own copies of your original footage.
Ending your account
You can stop using CutKarma at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, don’t pay, or if the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to download your content.
The sections on your content, AI output, liability and governing law continue to apply after your account ends.
Our responsibility to you
CutKarma is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or right for your purpose.
To the extent the law allows, CutKarma isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we’ll update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using CutKarma after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
