Why we built it
Good videos get stuck in long recordings.
Podcasts, webinars, livestreams and talks pile up as hours of footage. The best minutes are in there, but getting them out usually means scrubbing a timeline, marking in and out points, and rebuilding the cut every time someone asks for a change.
We think you should be able to say what you want, the way you’d brief an editor, and get a cut back. So CutKarma watches the whole video, cuts to your direction, and lets you fix the result the same way, in plain words.
The timeline is still there for the moments you want your hands on it. It edits the same cut, so you never have to choose one way of working.
How we build
Five rules the editor follows.
Each one shows up in the product. The quotes on the right are taken word for word from the app.
You direct, the AI edits
You describe the result you want. The AI does the watching, the picking and the cutting, across the whole video.
In the app Say what to look for — it watches the whole video and cuts to your brief.
The AI shows its work
Every clip shows where it sits in your source and why it was picked. If the AI has no reason to give, we don’t make one up.
On every clip Why the AI picked it
You keep the final cut
Ask for changes in words or take over on the timeline. Every change can be undone, and the AI’s version is always one click away.
After an AI fix Applied as a new version. Undo (Ctrl+Z) puts the previous one back.
Nothing is faked
We never show a result that doesn’t exist yet. Renders are cut from your original footage and checked before they’re marked done.
When you’ve edited since This render is of an earlier version. Your newer edits aren’t included.
Your work stays safe
Edits save as you go. When a step fails, the last good version is still there and nothing you did is lost.
If a render fails Your edits are safe. Rendering again starts from the original footage.
